#30 8bit art stuff
Wow, finally finished a project I should've been done with awhile ago, well I was still in school so there was that to take care of so i guess I've just been slacking off since the end of the semester. Anyways, I finally finished turning some drawings my friend Omar made a while ago into 8bit versions. I've been tinkering with 8bit stuff and perler for the past 6 months or so and thought this would be a good project to expand my knowledge of both. Each character takes about 4 boards to make so they won't be too bad too make if I get around to it. This will probably wait until after I make some of my 8bit coasters. I did some changes on the coasters too, color fixes and got the number of each color I would need. On too the characters!
Each one has their name or nickname under them and I'm pretty pleased with who they turned out. I might go back over them later and see how I feel about them though since I've made them in bits and pieces (hah!) I've gone back over them each time I made a new one so most are probably in the final stage.

#29 school project - stacking things
So here is test I did for an idea I have for a project for school. I just made a simple gun image, made copies and scaled them from 100% to 10%. It looks alright though if I go with this idea I will probably go with every 5% step starting at 100% since right now it shrinks down a lot near the smaller sizes. I probably wouldn't use the rainbow for a color scheme although it does add a certain humor to the work. I am also not sure of the material to use.
The other idea I have is to do something similar but break apart the shape into smaller less recognizable pieces and do the same scale progression (every 5%). Then I would have multiple stalagmites/stalactites to mess around with in both placement of them, colors and materials.

#28 8-bit classics and coasters
I've been making more perler things lately and while I have pictures I probably won't post them for a bit. What I will do is post some other stuff I've been tinkering with and what I want to do with them. Browsing various forums and seeing what others have worked on has made me want to make some drink coaster sets. I wanted to do something with classic 8-bit Nintendo games so I made a list, narrowed it down and picked ten different games along with ten sprites from those games. I cut those down to fit in a 20x20 pixel border since 20x20 is a decent size for a drink coaster. Click the link and you'll see what I've done!
